Stage 1: Concept Design
We begin by learning what you need, what’s driving your intended project and how we can help your business. We’ll outline any constraints that may affect your project and provide indicative costs, so you have a clearer picture and more certainty from the start.
Stage 2: Design Development
Following feedback on the concept plan, we progress to more detailed design and, where needed, engage consultants. Once your design has reached a certain point, we can issue a detailed cost breakdown, which you can use for finance applications and cost comparisons. If the design and costs are on the right track, we ask for a letter of intent. This allows us to prioritise the project with our design team, provide pre-construction technical input and engage consultants.
Stage 3: Planning Application
In this stage, we engage all the necessary consultants and manage the submission of all required documentation to council or a private certifier for approval. Our in-house team of experts handles the approval process and is fully aligned with your aims: getting the build underway quickly and cost-effectively.
Stage 4: Detailed Design
As the approval process continues, we move further into design and engineering. This is when we select all construction detailing, colours and finishes, fixtures, fittings and equipment. At the same time, our technical team updates all costs to align with any design changes, with the final cost run completed once all engineering, design and approvals are in hand.
Stage 5: Delivery
With design, cost and contract requirements resolved, a contract based on a standard AS4902 Design and Construct contract is prepared and signed. At this point, Cyclo takes on all design risk. The project moves into delivery with a clear construction programme and dedicated site management.
