RSPCA NSW’s purpose-built Equine Adoption Centre provides a safer, more efficient environment for horse intake, care and adoption.

Purpose-built for equine care
RSPCA NSW engaged Cyclo to replace the existing horse yards at its Hunter Shelter with a purpose-built facility supporting intake, treatment, rehabilitation and adoption. The new centre increases onsite capacity while creating a safer, more practical environment for horses, staff and visitors.

Supporting every stage of care
The centre is organised around two custom-designed stable blocks, 13 paddocks and a network of laneways designed for low-stress movement. The main barn includes four stables, veterinary examination areas, a wash bay, horse crush and scales, bringing everyday handling and treatment into one controlled environment.

A dedicated intake area
A separate stable block provides a secure space for unhandled or unwell horses during their first days at the shelter. From there, clear movement paths connect the stable areas with paddocks, allowing horses to move safely through different stages of care.

Designed for safer adoption
The 13 paddocks are sized for pairs of horses, with shelter and water provided throughout. Safe viewing lines give visitors a clearer way to see horses during adoption appointments, while two dedicated stallion yards, a feed shed and equipment storage support day-to-day operations.
