A purpose-built veterinary hospital in Leichhardt, Sydney, combines state-of-the-art facilities with a calming environment for pets and families.

An integrated practice

Medipaws is a fully functional hospital with emergency rooms, specialists and subcontracted partners, including a dedicated imaging section operated by a radiology provider. From dedicated cat and dog entrances to rehabilitation zones and cosy relaxation areas, we designed and built every detail with care.

Thoughtful separation, better experiences

Cats and dogs have dedicated entrances and waiting areas, with the hospital planned to separate their journeys. The cat side includes its own consult and treatment spaces with direct access to the cat ward, while the dog side connects consult rooms to treatment, rehabilitation and other clinical areas.

Calming interiors

The interiors draw on Leichhardt’s Italian heritage, bringing colour and character into the hospital. Calming greens and feline-friendly materials define the cat areas, while warmer terracotta tones distinguish the dog side. Glazed walls and the existing shopfront draw natural light deep into the interiors.

Specialist imaging

The hospital includes MRI, SPECT CT, X-ray, ultrasound and fluoroscopy facilities, bringing complex imaging requirements into a veterinary setting. Cyclo worked closely with the radiology team to address spatial requirements, radiation shielding and the specialist infrastructure.
