A former medical centre transformed into a light-filled, character-rich veterinary practice. Northside Vets retains its original architectural charm while introducing fear-free design elements, accessible entry and non-slip flooring. The result is a modern, welcoming space that balances warmth, functionality and patient comfort in every detail.
Northside Vets presented a unique opportunity to transform a former medical centre into a warm, contemporary veterinary practice that feels both familiar and fresh. The existing building carried character and charm with original fireplaces, ornate cornices and decorative arches, all of which were carefully retained to honour its history while adapting the layout for a modern clinical environment.
Light and flow were key to the redesign. Several internal walls were opened to create brighter consult rooms, improving visibility and comfort for both patients and staff. To meet accessibility requirements, a new front ramp was constructed, blending seamlessly with the existing façade.
The finished space balances character and functionality: the warmth of a period home with the efficiency of a purpose-built clinic. Northside Vets now stands as a welcoming practice where thoughtful design enhances safety, comfort and care for every patient that walks through the door.
