A heritage church given a new purpose, bringing a piece of Warragamba’s history into a place for children to learn, play and grow.
Preserving a local connection
The project began with the restoration and refit of the existing church. Retaining the building preserved part of the community’s history while preparing it for a new role in early education.
Bringing old and new together
A second stage introduced a new building connected to the restored church. Together, the two form one early learning centre, combining the character of the original building with additional space for its new use.
Room to learn and explore
The centre includes five indoor learning spaces that cater to different developmental needs. Outside, a shared natural play area encourages children of different ages to interact, explore and learn from one another.
Clear communication throughout
Working with a heritage-listed property within a conservation area required careful coordination. Cyclo maintained direct communication with the client, council and consultants, keeping the intended outcome clear throughout the build.
